So far, I have only had a few datnoids and never quarantined them. I recently got an ~8" NGT from Rich @ Infinite Aquatics and I had some questions. I'm kind of anxious to get it in w/ my other dats and get it out of the divided 40 breeder, but wanted to see what common diseases NGT come in with. Is it stupid for me to try to put it with the others now? My others are 7" NTT, 7" AT, 5.5" IT. It is unstable right now (pale), but some may be due to the white sand and no cover in the 40 right now.

should be fine to just put it in the tank... how big is the tank? ngt's tend to be the more aggressive type of dat.

but it never hurts to qt them for a few days... to make sure it doesnt have any thing wrong with it

I got it Friday early afternoon and it seems fine, but I'll try to be a little more patient and wait at least a couple days. it's going into a 210 long (7x2x2). i wish i had an ST for it to go in with, too :)

i'm a little paranoid lately since losing a WC palmas polli after a week due to coming in parasites

Nothing wrong with being cautious..QT is your friend...lol. the ST's are out there you just gotta be ready to do the leg work (1350 miles round trip for mine..lol)

and pay the cash :D

well, I went for it yesterday. Right after going in, it looks SO much better. It stabilized very quickly. The oscar isn't being so nice, but everything seems okay. I rescued this damn oscar at 2 inches when it was barely getting anything to eat with the other oscars in the tank and now it's picking on my other fish. Ungrateful bastard

Awsome. I knew your would cave soon:ROFL:. Is it being shy? I'm sure you saw the thread I made about the behavior of mine.

Now not another post from you is aloud without pics:D.

yep, i am impatient :D I actually didn't see it yet. It's not being shy. In the 40B, it would just lay almost on its side in the corner, but it's swimming around in the 210. There is a lot more activity in there, too, so that helps. I will try to get some pix soon, but my water is still a little cloudy.
