why are New Guinea Tigers so expensive? not compared to the rarely seen ST's

They just are but if someone is willing to pay the price they will buy it.

my best guesses are as with most expensive fish- not sure about thse though just guesses-

difficulty to breed
suppy and demand
importing for other countrys
well--it's a datnoid

They are usally cheaper if they are smaller.

yes size is a huge factor in price aswell.

they are a lot cheaper than they were a year or 2 ago but its just supply and demand, i think the price has dropped by about half but they are a lot easier to get these days.

I agree with the whole supply and demand thing. Although Tom's in Long Beach might be a classic case of price jacker. I saw 4 thinbar dats 1 month ago and they had infected eyes which eventually healed. they were selling them for $44 each and they are still selling them at the same price. They are about 3" maybe bigger.

I bought a small one (2"+) from Wildwoods at the weekend for £60. They a great 7-8" one for £125 and some inbetween sizes for £90. I thought that reasonable for the UK.

yep i have been offered 5-6'' for between £75-90 before and they were easily £150+ previously.

What suprised me at Wildwoods was that the Indos seemed pricey-not as reasonable as the Thinbars or NGTs
