I've managed to get my AT, NTT and in the past IT onto pellets/foodsticks fairly easily...however my NGT won't even sniff them. I read these posts in the Datnoid section and rarely hear of NGT eating dry stuff...does anyone have an NGT that accepts dry foods?

My NGT is around 4.5" and he now takes Tetracichlid Jumbo sticks. He started on feeders, then i got him on dead feeders, then earthworms, then frozen bloodworms, then market shrimps covered in BW, then homemade, floating frozen stuff made of every kind of fish food (mainly shrimp and krill) gished together, then floating FD krill, then the sticks.

Mine has alot of pellet-eating competition though, with the haps i have in the tank with him, so he knows he needs to hit whatever hits the water.

What is yours eating now?

If you can get him onto the floating krill, it shouldn't be too hard to get him onto the pellets since they look so similar. The protein content of the Tetra Sticks is very good too. You do need strong filtration as it clouds the water a bit.

Basically just do it gradually, and have competition with him.

Oh-got it all wrong judging by the replies :(
Mine only eats frozen prawn-won't come near the surface at all

Just wait it out, when the NGT sees other dats eat pellets, it'll start taking it as well.

Other fish are your best trainer when it comes to eating
