Nic not lookin so good(HELP!)

So today i found my dominant nicaraguensis stuffed under one of the rocks in my tank and she looked terrible. She has these scars on her right gill plate. She was fine the day before and it I don't think she was beatin up because she is the most dominant fish in the tank and rules it with an iron fist. Even when she was laying on the bottom the other fish for the most part left her alone. She shares a 55 gallon with 3 other nics and 3 sailfin mollies. Filteration is a aquaclear 110 and an xp2 canister with weekly 50% water changes. Amonia and nitrite are 0 and nitrate is at 10ppm. Any thought's? And possilbe sex too?

Thanks bill, I think I might have 4 males then. We will see maybe I am wrong.

If it is heater burn what should I do? He is in a 10 gallon right now with temps like 80 and I added salt so maybe that will help. I hope he bounces back he had so much color.

if it a heater burn put a guard on the heater.
