Nicaragua Cichlid X Convict Cichlid

so my male Nicaragua Cichlid has paired up with my female Convict cichlid. my question is they are both from central american. so dosent that mean they are capable of producing fry? Ive personally never heard of this but the more i look into this the more interesting it appears to me. so is this possible and if so any ideas as to what the fry might look like?

You should get fry out of them for sure, never heard of this one but I know its very possible. Maybe I'll get some of them off of you, I'm in Howell.

well that isnt to far from me.... im more interested to see if it works. they are all alone in a 30 gallon maybe more.. not sure its just a 55 gallon with a divider. Nic. is about 5in. and convict is only 3in. the nic seems to have picked out a cave with a stone in front of it as a house 'sorta speak' convict goes in and out every so often but the nic flares at her when ever she gets inside

they are digging large pits at the entrance of a flower pot, they are currently taking turns going in and out of the pot but i cant see any eggs they keep the pleco at bay

females convict laid eggs, but i dont think the nic. fertilized them
