Has anyone observed spawning behavior of Nicaraguan Dovii strain with more than one females in the aquarium (and a single male)?

I was reading an article in the recent issue of TFH magazine about cichlid mating systems. It states about dovii that males of the nigaraguan strain are (simultaneously) polygamous. So, in his territory a male can have several females and can have spawn with all of them at the same time!

I had a chance to observe this in Chattanooga aquarium last month, where each male had more than one spawns (with different females) in his territory. I wasn't entirely sure about this since I always thought that doviis are monogamous (or as the article states, "sequentially polygamous").

I guess it might be very difficult to observe it, unless ofcourse its a 500+gallon aquarium where more than one females can be housed with a single male.

very interesting, personally i have not wittnesed any nicaraguan dovii breeding,
but that's cool to hear. i wish we all could be able to do that.:D
