These are 4 parachromis dovii I ordered from Dan at Cichlids of the Americas three weeks ago at approximately 4" . The fish in the first part is in a 40b since I had to separate him (I believe) from the others because he was getting pounded. He has already recovered about 90% but all the spotting and blue has faded out I assume because of the light surroundings. The others are in a 7'x2'x2'. Two have paired up and successfully spawned a batch of around 30 fry, so now the third is going to be moved to another 40b or 55 once I set it up. The third is the largest most dominant fish, but I think it is a female. I plan on growing them out a bit to see how they develop before choosing the fish I will be keeping.

robham777 robham777 , you know them dovii won’t last long in a 40b or 55 without me saying it haha. I just moved my B.B. from the 40b growout at 4.5” cause he was looking cramped imo. You’re a solid keeper and I’m sure you have an exit plan. Good luck with these!

I was hoping the 210 would have lasted a little longer before becoming a war zone, but was not really expecting it. I have a 5'x3'x27" 250 that I can probably get set up in a couple of weeks or I may just get a couple of 110 gallon stock tanks(36"x53"x20")
from Tractor Supply since I was considering them to use as a sump system for my half finished plywood build that I have not touched in a year.

Lot of nice color and confidence from these at such a small size - congrats
Thanks, my old dovii was 7 or 8 inches when I got him and was really skittish for a long time so I missed out on some of the fun. So far these fish are a blast despite some of the headaches, it is gonna be tough when it comes time to let some go. I am not dead set on keeping the pair yet, but am leaning that way.

I’d keep the pair. Female Dovii are gorgeous - and the males usually aren’t too rough on them

Good to know, I have had some bad outcomes with other CA pairs.
