Nicaraguan pair advice please

Hi I have a female Nic in my 6 foot 135 gallon and I saw a male around the same size today and thought about getting the him and seeing if they pair up.

She shares the tank with 4 geos, 3 sevs and 2 festivums along with a few headstanders and whiptail cats.

Let me know peoples experiences with how nasty they are when breeding.

Though I have never owned them I would think there parental care would be similar to other cichlids. Which is aggressive when another fish tries to invade that space.

i have a pair right now in a 135 also. they will chase here and there but nothing serious. I have a pair of salvini and about 5 rainbow cichlid with them.

They are not nasty at all, but will defend their brood. Honestly, like my F2 Orange Rainbow cichlids, they will breed to the point of almost being a nouscance!!! Enjoy, it is wonderful to watch their parental care.
