I purchased 3 juveniles and the have grown out to where I can visually sex them, 1 male 2 females...they all hang out together but haven’t paired yet...they are relatively small, 4 and 5 inches maybe smaller...should I remove a female and force a pair or just keep an eye on them? I don’t want the odd fish out to get killed

Mine have spawned at that size. I say keep them together. I have a group of 6 (2 definite pairs, 2 individuals) they have been together through various spawns in one of my 180s. They eat together like a herd and share the tank with 6 H. Deppi. Great combo a few yrs running. There’s a few SD’s in there too

Mine have also spawned at about that size, I would let them stay together as a trio, to allow the female that's ready to spawn, spawn at her own particular time table, forcing is often dangerous to females.
I offer places to spawn like PVC caps and the like. The eggs are not attached, so they role around a bit.

thanks y'all...can't believe they spawn that small ...ok i will leave them as a trio =)
i'll put a cap in
