Nicaraugense Magic trick: How did they do that?

They thread my thermometer probe through the base hole in the flower pot. I have no idea why or how. You can see them guarding eggs.

hahahaha, they are showing there ablity to multitask, guarding eggs while checking the tank temperature all in the same location at the same time. Smart.

My only guess is that the probe was near the opening when they rescaped for breeding. You can see in the pic how much gravel they moved.
