Where The Wild Things Are
Throughout my years of rising fish, I have always gone and look into the goldfish feeder tanks and found kois and many different types of fancy goldfish and sometime native fish that are mixed in there accidentally and i always buy them when i have the chance for feeders prices. Does anyone else do that? or just me?:nilly:

I saw a very nice looking, healthy red and white koi (it had longfins like a butterfly koi, too) mixed in with some dull orange feeders once at Petsmart. But store policy was that you couldn't pick what feeders you got. :irked:

That was store policy at the store I worked at too, but if I knew someone was buying them for a tank/pond and they were only getting a few, I always let them pick or at least tried to get them the nicest colored ones.

yeah, i was in petsmart the other day and saw a bunch of koi in with the feeders. granted they were ugly with no color, but they were still koi. good deal for somebody wanting to stock a huge pond/lake

i told the girl and said that it happens all the time

You know what we get in all the time with our feeders? More feeders. Have never gotten anything else with a shipment.:(

local stores always have in native killes and occasionally madtoms. Also seen small tilapias come in with feeder guppies

Sometimes I find and take home small green sunfish.....
