Has these strand been around for a while. My LFs jsut got them yesterday. Never kept peacocks before. Any info would be helpful. Thanks.

they don't need special care.

if you already have an african setup, then go right ahead and buy them.

they're just not as aggressive as some other african cichlids, so make sure they're all the same relative size.

Keep em bout the same time, easy to take care of, and they arent as agressive as other africans so you dont really have to worry to much with them unless you put them with really agressive africans, that may cause problems, but your tank looks fine, nice pick up btw!

Actually there still at the store, I cycling a new 60 gallon right now... 15 bucks, I might reserve them...

There is really nothing special that you need to know about taking care of peacocks. They just tend to be one of the less agressive of the malawi cichids. But can be like any cichlid.

The peacocks in particular though are hybrid. I don't even have any idea what are in them. They do have a bunch of names though like strawberry, rasberry, or pink peacock, but I don't even know what the standard name for them is.

They are nice though and $15 for fish of that size is a pretty good deal. I have seen 2in ones for sale at upwards of $30.

grab it if you can, I've seen these go at 50 bucks each at aquabid.com. They were a hot seller ( i don't know about now though), check out this website to see if there's any for sale and see what the sellers are asking for.

This is the strawberry peacock

Nice fish! Looks like a good buy!
