can you guys help me, im planning to buy my first asian aro. can you give me any advice on how to manage and take care of them. thnx in advance.

they are no harder to take care of than any other fish

good tank size 6x2x2 min
good water 1 water change per week min
good food twice per day until it reaches 10inch

job done happy aro keeping :D

thnx so much. by the way i saw your asian arowana community its great.. by the way regarding their food do i need to train them to eat arowana pellets while they're young?

Start with buying the biggest tank you can, the MINIMUM is posted above.
Decide if you want a sump or canister filter, or both.
then ask more questions.

what kind of asian aro are you leaning towards....there green, yellow tail, banjar red, (these are the more affordable) then there are rtg, blood red, super red, chili red...the list goes on for red, crossback which are malaysian gold...since your in asia they have golden head which is a type of crossback with its head golden and i would say one my the pricier piece.

Maybe i'll start off with a green arowana. Then if i have enough luck i might buy an RTG arowana. XB and SR class are too expensive for me im just a student right now.. once i've purchased it i would always give you guys and update. BTW i have questions regarding about the filtration, is it ok i would use 2 over head filters and 1 powerful air pump? I am going to put the specimen in a 75 gallon tank. ( the 75 gallon tank is his temporary tank for 2 months )
