I think you have some time. From my experience they grow very slowly. I had a 1" one in a 55 until if hit about 6" which took it a little more than 1-1/2 years

They don't grow at a crazy rate but once it hits around six inches I would move it to a bigger tank. If it doesn't have enough swimming space it could break your tank. I've seen it happen personally.

You could have it in there for a good while. They are slow.
