Are Night Crawlers good live foods for fish? I have been feeding my oscar. severum and Jack Dempsey Night Crawlers about 4 times a week for the last month. Is it a good food for growth, I am trying to speed the growth of the severum and JD.

They are not real good for African lake cichlids though, too rich.

awww maaaannn, why you gotta go and kick my *** outta lazy mode like that!!! LOL Daaang! ha ha ha, ok ok, seriously though, he's riiiiigght. Ok, so if I were you, though the other information is awsome, but for your particular species, your better bet would be to stick with more natural foods, that would be similar to what they might prefer in the wild. some are; 1. Whole or chopped fish (entire fish chopped up).
2. Cichlid Pellets.--you can get many of these enriched with vitamins and elements, making it a great supplement source
3. Beef heart, lean white meat.
4. Raw Lettuce, cooked Spinach, cooked Peas without their skin, Cucumber, Algae
.

There are more, and it varies for each, but I just gave you some generals that are pretty standard. blaa, ok, back to lazy mode, ha ha.

I feed worms all the time.
