does anyone use the marina blue night led lights??? can they be left on all night or will it drive your fish crazy???

anyone have any pics of how it looks??

My wife and I have several set's on order and I plan on running them on a timer...slightly overlapping the main lights to give a dawn...dusk...effect

It might well be cheaper over all but the kits we ordered are pre-made...water proof... ready to mount and relitivly inexpencive. Another concideration is the time involved in building enough lights for all 8 tanks.
This way I can have everything up and running in an afternoon.

Yeah...if you're time constrained...

I made a bank of 12 for my 125g, bank of 6 55g, 2 banks of 3 for a 30BR and 40BR, mounted them inside the canopy.

Also LED's are not like regular bulbs where they get wet it can crack because of the heat. LED's run a lot cooler, the only thing that needs to be water proofed are the connections, a lil silicone will go a long way.

I know a guy who used red and blue leds to create a early morning blueish red and the same for a dawn effect. Then it would turn blue at night. The guy made it himself though it was 2 different circuits. They were timed as well.

Ive toyed with the idea of a variable intencity lighting system for years now but so far I havnt gotten around to it. All the tanks would be set up with three individual flor. strips as well as the moon lights on differant timing cycles. Might have a positive effect on difficult to spawn species.

LOL then again it might just be a collosal waste of time...money...and effort.
