I've been seeing a lot of cheap pan/tilt IP cameras on eBay lately so I bought a few to check them out. They have a ring of infra-red LEDs around the lens, and while they're not powerful for shooting more than a few meters away, they're perfectly adequate for lighting up part of a tank. I also have some lights on in the room, but they're not providing much light. I thought it could be cool to see what my clowns get up to when I'm not looking. Here are a few still frames:

The biggest two are very shy, so it's really nice to see them come out and eat. I also had no idea how much they liked zucchini.
The camera cost me AUS$50, which I think is quite reasonable. It's completely self-contained so it just needs power and a network connection and it's good to go. If you forward the right port through your router, you can watch it from anywhere in the world. I was using a 12mm lens for the last two images, but the same thing could be achieved by just moving the camera closer to the tank.
