i picked up a box of nightcrawlers and all my fish loved them, what are the health benefits of feeding these to your fish?

As far as I know, they are rich in protien... or a natural growth hormone.

I've been told that nightcrawlers bring out spectacular color but for growth, I was told your best bet is krill. I've only tried this on adult fish so I'm not sure about krill but I can confirm the whole vibrant color theory. My green terrors colors are definitely much brighter after I started sporadically feeding nightcrawlers.

They are good in protein, low in fat, and have a decent amount of calcium and phosphorous. I can't confirm any vitamins or other minerals, so I'm wary of feeding them all the time.

Also, although people often use these names as synonymous depending on what state or country you're in, nightcrawlers (Lumbricus terrestris Linnaeus) are not the same as earthworms (Lumbricus rubellus Hoffmeister). Since the latter have quadruple the amount of fat as the former, they are not a good staple for most fish.
