nikon d40 serious help!

I have a Nikon D40 and my lovely beautiful daughter of course got ahead of me and grabbed it, well since she had the strap on her shoulder and she moved the camera became taller then her when it fell off the table onto the floor!!!!! Popping the lense off, well of course the smallest little peice broke of the lens making it not possible to reconnect.

I have a question....can i buy that lens from like a best buy or something...can any other lens go with this camera....

i would suggest looking for a used lens. the 18-55(most likely what you have) is common at the camera shops. can be had fairly inexpensive.

Well i called a bunch of stores and they tell me they dont have the lens i need, and there are other ones i can get but there going to cost me 279-300 ouch!!!!!!!!!
So im going to take a look on ebay.

B&H has cheap lenses.

you should be able to find a 18-55mm VR for 100 or so on craigslist.
