I know I posted in a thread a month or so ago that my camera had to go back for repair due to the in built flash being stuck open. Well I got it back and yet again a few weeks later it has done the same thing.

I've looked all over the net for similar experiences but with no joy. I've contacted the retailer and they have told me 'no problem bring it back and we'll send it back again' which is fine, the retailer has been in business over 30 years. I was still not happy though in case I get it back and it fails again so asked 'when do they replace the body' and I was told on the third repair.

Can anyone confirm this to be true or has this happened to any one else?

Sorry to hear about your flash. I have D90 as well, and so far I have had no flash issues. I also use a SB900 and its working well as a remote flash.
I hope you can get your issues resolved quickly and to your satisfaction.

Good Luck
Steve

Took the camera back to the shop today and got the standard ' how can I help' I took the camera out of the bag and she went 'OMG not again', I had said nothing.

They are putting it through as a complaint as opposed to a repair which takes less time apparently.....

Sounds like the flash release/lock mechanism is flaky .
I prefer not to drain the camera battery and instead use an external flash.

Hope you get it sorted out soon.

I normally shoot on manual unless I'm taking a quick pic of something, it's not like it's being overworked, very annoying
