THERE FRIGGIN HUGE AND totally destroyed the native fish in lake tangyakka (wrong spelling there)= (some lake in africa, kenya i believe) was loaded with em for the fishery business but it backfired and these giants ate all the smaller native fishes

Tanginyka I believe is the spelling lol.
 
These are absolute monsters, 6ft plus is not uncommon and over 100lbs in weight.
They are legal in the uk to rear, grow etc.
They can be purchased from aquatic stores i have seen a few over the last couple of years. price around £ 80 - 120.
they are a brown colour when jeuveniles and turn silver colour as they grow.
I dont know what size they would get too into an aquarium , but you will need a massive one to house just one.

This is a "nlie perch. var", they only grow to about half the size of the "great nile perch", they can also have a different sheen of color when they reach adulthood.

Actually lake victoria was the lake that received the most damage from the introduction of this fish. About 200 species of cichlids have become extinct.

I have seen one as big as 50", I have two at the moment, one is 14" and the other is 6".
