Do Nile tilapia eat live food? Some of my rosy reds that I'm keeping with them are dying. And it's weird because there's half a minnow floating at the surface every once in a while. Are the tilapia doing this?

They are not predators to my knowledge, but they will eat anything that's available.
I had mine in a pond under a cherry tree during the summer, they survived on algae, fallen cherries, and anything that landed in the water.

Thanks. At what size do they start breeding and are special conditions needed? Mine are all about 4"

It depends on if they are stunted or not and what subspecies they might be. If they are stunted that might be big enough, if not probably around 6-8" or so. There are no signs of breeding coloration on the fish that you posted above. The males throat and belly will turn red/pink, the top of the dorsal fin will turn black, and the caudal fin will also turn red. A very attractive fish in breeding dress.

The biggest one's throat is starting to look a little pinkish. Maybe breeding time soon o.O

they will eat smaller fish, but they are not piscivores in terms of the preferred diet.
