i posted recently about a 7 inch male fusco that i have, and as usual got some great info and feedback from people here. i was just wondering if anyone has tried to breed them and what advice you might have to offer. my lfs is getting in some 4 to 5 inch females for me in the next couple of weeks and i am considering getting 2 or 3 of them. is this the best way to approach breeding or am i better off with just getting one female? any info or past experiences would be greatly appreciated

Yes, once breeding starts there will be a lot of trouble in the tank.

How larger the fusco's the more trouble. I have bred mine in a 2.5 meter (a little more than 8' long aqaurium) every time it happened I made sure that I was around in case the fusco got to aggressive.

Best practise with these kinds of fish is to keep the females seperate in another tank and once you see a female is ready to breed dump the male in the female tank. This way he won't have a territory to defend. When they are done remove the male immediately
