Hey guys,
I currently have about a 6 inch Nimbochromis Fuscotaeniatus (Fusco) and a 5 inch Common Pleco. Both are being housed in my 47 gallon African Cichlid tank. I hear the Fusco can reach sizes of 12'' and the Pleco at 18 monster inches.

My Fusco has amazingly beautiful colors, but has sadly outgrown my small 47G. I would love to keep raising this fish and am definetly considering upgrading my 47G to a 75 or 90G. But I hear at full size the fusco needs about 125G to be happy. Understandable since the 125G is 2 feet longer than the 75/90. I dont think i have the room or the $$$ to get a 125G. Would it be cruel of me to house this fish in a 4' long tank?

My other thought was just to switch to saltwater and sell these beautiful freshwater fish. What are your thoughts?

He'll be fine in a 75/90 for a while. Just keep the tank all males and aggression won't be too bad.

You live close to me. You should check out our local fish club. The address is in my signature.

If you want a salt tank, go for it but keep Fusco, ideally in a 125g IMHO.

Ok guys heres an update:

I recently bought a used 125 gallon tank off craigslist. The tank dimensions are 60"x18"x24". I have moved all my african cichlids over to the tank including my Fusco. I put them in the tank over a week ago and everyone has been doing great. But today i noticed that my Fusco has started to become overly aggressive towards my other fish. i have a bunch of rock work and caves in my tank as well as open spaces but my Fusco is like on a prowl, searching and scoping the entire tank looking for other fish to **** on. He has been basically occupying one half of the tank and has claimed that his "territory". All of the other fish are on the other side of the tank and the Fusco just kind of invades their territory quite a bit. Is there anything i can do to tame his aggression?

Here are some of my ideas:
-Add more rocks/caves/hiding places
-Add more fish, some similar in size to Fusco
-Feed more frequently

Let me know what you think
