I have a female stonii that's about 4.5in who has stopped eating. She's been in perfect health and has been a great eater until about 3 days ago. Her throat and bottom jaw area have gotten really dark about up to her pectoral fins and she has shown interest at feeding but will not eat. I put a feeder guppy in for her and she went for it, missed, and didn't go after it again. She still seems to be really healthy but she's just not eating. Is it possible she's wanting to mate? There are no male stonii's in the tank so unless she's mated with something else (doubtful) then I don't know. Any ideas?

Alright, here are the pics. . . I didn't downsize them so loading may take a bit but I want y'all to see her full size and with full detail.

Kinda buzzed so pics didn't come out that clear. . . but they should sufficiently show her.
Thanks.

Sounds like she's holding.... She'll probably swallow them as they are most likely unfertile and not going to be fertilized. Possibly fertilized by another male in your tank but unlikely. You'll know if she spits a hybrid out LOL..

No need of a mate to lay and pic up eggs only in need of mate to fertilize them.

That's what I was thinking but I know she's not got a chance with anything but a convict or a JD. . . I hope that's all it is and she'll swallow that load quick and get back to eating. . . . all suggestiveness willingly applied :D

Spit her. Or try to spit her. If theres eggs they should come out.
