Nipped Fins

Im thinking to get an silver aro. but when i visit every fish stores around me, has them with nipped fins. So im worried a bit coz nipped fins will recover like most other fishes or not? That aros around 25$-35$

yes if you just add melaflex it should heal fine, as long as you dont have an other fish tank will keep nippin it

What I always do and it's effective. I do regular water change and make the water temp a little bit high to 84-86. It heals fast that way

Ok, thanks guys.. Im going to add it with 2 albino tiger oscars, if im correct oscars will not nip his fins..

Well an increased temperature enhances rapid growth but reduces its life span

No oscars won't nip the fins but likey will harrass a small aro to death. Better make sure the aro is at least 10" and 2x as long as the oscars before mixing.

Yeah my Oscars are just 5" and i think that aros are around 8"-12"

Are you sure your not confusing nipped fins for just torn fins? Torn fins happen very, very easily in aro's, and aro's at any fish store will have it. Its just from the stress of moving. I wouldn't add any kind of medication. Most all medication's really aren't healthy in the long run for the fish, and the fins will heal by themself quickly. Good luck with your new aros!
