From my previous post you can see my motoros are doing great. all the parameters are excellent except for the nitrate. I can't seem to get it below 30-40 ppm. I am doing at least a 40 % water change weekly and last week i did two 40% changes. I have also added Seachem's denitrate and i have started growing pothis out the top of my aquarium. Any additional things i can do?

You know i have tested it for ph (8.0) and amonia (0), but i didn't think to test for nitrate. Is it possible?

How often do you siphon your gravel/sand? Maybe your filter is just dirty with decaying stuff so thats creating the nitrates. I was confused about really high nitrates in an one of my aquariums also, little did I know that an angel fish I was missing did not get eaten but sucked into the overflows and was stuck in some pads in my pre filter box (dead and decayed) and created nitrates for 2 weeks before I realized to check.
