nitrate reducer???

in my 200g tank or so tank. i would like to put a nitrate reducer area. the lava rocks/gravel would be bio filtration and root plants how sould it be set up it will be tub anout 50g or so. what plants how many how high should the water be? thans guys (i don't have need to get the money first)

ok heres my plan its gonna be a big one.

top part is 1. mech filtration 2. bio or mech 3. bio i am using canster midum that why i have so much room for a refugium thing .the bottom is a 50-100g tub that will be the nitrate reduce part. how amny what type of plants how should this be made. i can't find any thing to help me with the other plans pll have becuase mine is a bit different thanks guys

my idea is too use duck weed cheap and grows like well a weed what do you guys think

my second idea was making a bed of grave and only haveing water up too a sertan level and using terresal plants may work batter what do you guys think! come no feed back!!!!!!!!!!!!
