Has anyone heard of a nitrate remover from PRODAC called simply "NO NITRATES". They are an italian based company and i picked some up to trial in my tank from my local store who are a reputable store who have all the big name products and seemingly some lesser named products too. I've never heard of PRODAC. Theres probably similar products on the market but i'm wary at this point. If products like this were any good why don't we all use them and limit our regular partials to, well, not so regular partials. Are they designed to limit partials or are they to be used as part of your regular water change agenda. Anyone got any ideas?

silver bullet remedies worry me. The only true way i know of to get rid of nitrates is to nuke the tank and kill all the bacteria, Of coarse this a bad ideal, and 6 to 8 weeks down the road they come back, tho you will have a whole new stock of fish by then, other sure fire way to least keep them at bay is water changes. A tried and true practice that works. no additives needed.

It appears to be some form of adsorbing resin, most likely for phosphates more than anything, but either way, unless you plan on running a proper denitrator, IMO best to just add pothos plants, and probiotic powder to reduce organics/nitrates in between water changes.

Same reason why the vast majority of people don't add septic powder to their tanks.

You've just confirmed what i already suspected. It's going nowhere near my tank. There's enough chemistry going on in my tank already without me putting more chemicals in. Cheers guys.

Hello; I started adding RID-X to two of my tanks a few weeks ago. While I cannot report for sure a positive result, I can say it has done no harm. The tanks look good and are doing well. My main reason for trying the RID-X wqas to try to control the slime algae (cyanobacteria?).

A crituqe of my method is welcome. I have been adding a few teaspoons to a small jar of tank water and allowing this to sit around for several hours. I then pour the stuf thru a coffeee filter. I pour the liquid into my tanks and the rest into my septic.

I am using it in a 55 gallon and 29 gallon so far. Both are heavily planted.
