thats it ! ! I give up, I cannot find the source of why my nitrates are at 160 ppm... I have all sensitive fish that need near perfect nitrates , but none of them seem affected by the high levels..? please I'm so lost.. I really don't want to lose any of them..

Edit..my api test if saying thats my nitrates levels..but im starting to think . this piece of **** isn;t testing right.

Do u shake it?

Sources: old filter media, substrate, under decor or dw, gunked tubes, over feeding

I shook it for 5 minutes.

got rid of the old media, I clean the substrate everytime I do a water change, about 14 pounds of live rock , I cleaned the tubes, the fish species eat every 3 days.

yeah well I got the test kit almost 2 years ago, I heard they can be good for 3 years.. the animals in the tank a baby fuzzy lion*yellow* and a white leaf fish, a big red leg hermit, I know both of those animals are sensitive to nitrates so I don't know whats going on.. also ive noticed that when i test the water it spikes up really high in the tube, than after an hour it shows 0 nitrates, like I leave the test water in the tube.. is that normal?
