ok so i have been having issues with my well water the last couple weeks, first my ph was 8.3 out of tap, now i noticed today that it was 6.8, i got a little excited but then i tested the rest of the water just to see and i noticed now i have nitrite in tap water around .5, my question is i just did a water change pumping nitrite into tank, will that destroy my BB, is it gonna put me into a mini cycle?

No, nitrite will feed your BB. However, it is bad for the fish. Frequent small water changes will be better, because your bio will be able to convert it into nitrates faster, but a large water change will be a shock to the fish(nitrite spike). I think your best bet would be a drip system into the inlet of your sump ( assuming you have one). I think a nitrite reading will make your nitrates climb faster, too, since there is a food source for the bio besides fish waste.

i did a huge water change, since my ph was so high 8.3 after the water change it is 7.8, i was going to wait a another day to do another but not until the well gets fixed or i will have to treat each bucket i guess.

thanks for the info
