nitrite in ray tank

i cut out my jewel internal filter and replaced it with a eheim external yesterday and now i have a nitrite reading of 1.5.ive done a 25% water change and it aint helped shall i do another 25% change u think?

that had old filter media? you should have left the other filter on unitl the new one ran for about a week or so
