Nitrite reading

im in the middle of cycling my tank.
today my nitrite reading was between .5 and 1 ppm
what should i do next?

Just keep waiting until they drop to 0. Once ammonia and nitrites are 0 your cycle should be complete.

if doing a fishless cycle i would cut back to 3 drops of ammonia and wait for your nitrates to start to show

If the tank has fish in it then do a water change immediatly. About 75%.

If this is a fishless cycle.

Then keeping doing what you have been until 24hrs after the liquid ammonia is put in the readings for ammonia and nitrite are zero and you have a significant nitrate reading.
