In the fish section LOL
There was recently a nitrite spike in my pbass tank all the fish stopped eating and seem tired (laying near bottom) What is the best way to bring nitrites down? (frequent water changes prehaps?)

Suggestions are appreciated

thank you

yeah how long has it been running?? what was in there before..maybe your bio-load hasnt caught up to the pbass in your tank..Usuall nitrite spikes mean that it hasnt fully cycled yet..Nitrates on the other hand is what ammonia turns to nitrites and nitrites to nitrates..blah-blah the whole nitrogen cycle thing...Just do water changes and keep a eye on it..how many ppm's is it anyway???

We need answers to all the usually questions, then...

25% water change, check in 4 hours, if still up repeat and look for problems...

What is ammonia level?

What is nitrate levels?

Anything added or removed that could damage bio-filter?

sorry guys but the nitite was n't the problem the ph was low that is why he was acting all weird and not eating. I pu tin the powder to raise the ph to 7.0 hopefully that works!

pbass prefer the lower ph's.... are you sure that was it? mine is around 5.8-6....

wow

here are the parameters

ph 7.0
ammonia 0ppm

nitrite 0 ppm

Here are the symtoms
hasn't been eating
acting weak and lathargic
staying near bottom on tank
Has almost no color
almost he seems depressed

Could his discoloration just be from not eating and being weak?
Should i bulk him up on like 20 feeders just to keep him going and then try frozen again
what should i do?

I really need advice plz

Before this he was eating like a pig!

Don't know man....

I'd do a 25% water change. Make sure the temp. is 84 or higher... Maybe even raise it a little. Add salt if you haven't done so... and try live feeders...

Good luck!
