Just wanted to hear everyones experience / comments on using NLS Nutrigel.

I recently got a new SRD Flowerhorn and wanted to give him so NLS Ultra Red pellets that he refuses to eat. Then I remember my LFS gave me a free can of the Nutrigel and I decided to make a batch combining the two! It worked and my FH eats it, the only problem is it gets pretty messy and seems to cloud the water. I worried it will mess up the water quality? Is there any health issues to my flowerhorn feeding him both of these? Attaching a pic of the fish just cause. Love to hear what you guys think.

I've been feeding it to my mbuna, seems to be good food. Only downside is that it is really hard to distribute it evenly throughout the fish (20 or so).
This is what I've come up with so far lol. I'm going to try freezing and grating it next, a pain in the backside but a bit of fun none the less :)

Does it seem to make your tank cloudy/ messy at all? My Nitrates have been high recently and I wonder if it is a result of the food. I havent been spreading it on anything, just cut into cubes and froze and I feed thatway.

Gonna try tonight. Been feeding my fh one cube a day about the size of his stomach. Might be too much

Ultra red is pretty small for a fish that size. If you try the 2 or 3mm formulas he might be more willing to eat pellets. My srd strongly prefers floating pellets but he'll accept sinking if I drop them in slowly. Here's a link to a previous discussion i started on nutri gel a few months back, RD and the vp of NLS made some good points u might be interested in reading http://monsterfishkeepers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=558729

Btw, I've been feeding ultra red to some smaller fish for a few months (festae and RTMs) and haven't noticed any significant difference in color over the other formulas

King thank u very much for the insight. My fh isn't too red and I want him to be as red as his dad. Good to hear from someone else with experience. Imma read the article right away.
