I'm just curious if you guys that feed NLS do a rotation or do you just feed the same line? For example, do you free Probiotix until jar is finished, and then feed, say, UltraRed until thatthat is finished, and then maybe move to regular formula?

Do you open several jars and just rotate them during the week?

I guess the simplest is just to feed the same kind every time.

I know it probably doesn't make a difference as the products are very similar.

If you seen some of my other threads I'll sometimes debate questions like this in my head so I figure I'll just post. The answers often get me to stop analyzing it and I figure out a plan from the responses.

Thanks.

For me it depends on the fish I am feeding. My Devil's get float and ultra red. My Texans get float, ultra red, and a smidge of algeamax. HRP's get ultra red, and flakes.

I make a mix out of various foods. I buy 1mm NLS in 4lb buckets, a 2mm pellet that a fellow club members/breeder sells in 2lb bags, a flake that I get in 1/2lb bags, and shrimp wafers that I buy at the local shop. I then take an empty 4lb NLS bucket and I dump a bit of each of them into the bucket and mix it up. That way when I feed they are getting a bit of each of the four different foods which seems to work well since I have been doing that.

I got upgraded to this 1-1.5mm Probiotix when this place ran out of the ,0.5-.75 Probiotix i had ordered. It managed to open itself in shipping (though they packed for that possibility so some just spilled out in a zip lock bag surrounding the package).

Since it's open, I guess I'll switch between that and the Spectrum Community Fish 1mm I have been using).

Float arrived the other day so I've been feeding that as well as the rainbowfish seem to like that better than the sinking pellets but some also strike the sinking pellets.

I have some different sized clown loaches. When the lights are off and I see them out, I'll drop in a bit of 2-2.5 mm Probiotix and some 3mm There A for the biggest Loach.

I'm still not even sure if these loaches are finding the food as I've never seen the pellets go into their mouths. I see them digging around but with the lights out I can't see them eating the pellets.

This is one reason I got Northfin carnivore samples. I'm used to feeding the junk Hikari wafers and I felt better seeing them picking at wafers. If I can see them picking at these wafers, I'll just feel better that they are actually eating. I may just feed that once a week.

Finally, Ill probably order the Ultrared when I see it on sale. Might as well add it to the collection.
