Went to my LFS today & saw they have stocks of NLS pellets for sale.. Well after hearing all the good things about NLS from forum members, I couldn't resist & bought one.. Was quite expensive, $10 for 150g.. I'm surprised to see the ingredients have Vegetables & Fruit Extract which is not listed on any of the pellets I've bought before..
My question would be should I just feed NLS exclusively as recommended on the label or continue with mixing pellets?

I feed it exclusively except for the occasional zucchini treat. I have great results with my fish.

As for price.....buy in bulk.:naughty:

Which one did you get? I've been trying to get my FH to eat Thera A+ for weeks now. I started him on it, but now he just spits it out. He's turned into a rather finicky eater. Will only touch GS red/green and Bio Gold.

Which formula do you use to feed your flowerhorn? I've bought the 3mm sinking pellets for large fish.. Do I need to buy the Thera+A as well? or does it really matter whichever formula I feed?

I bought the 3mm sinking pellets for large fish.. I haven't fed my fish with the NLS pellet though.. waiting for them to clear up the ghost shrimp first.. I've BioGold+ as well.. Perhaps I should try feeding them NLS for a week or 2 to see if there's any changes..

omega one large cichlid pellets = the best staple pellet for a flowerhorn IMO. I buy the 5lb. bucket for $80-110.
Hmm, never heard of Omega One before.. There's so many pellet brands out there that I just couldn't keep up with them..
How does it compare to NLS?

Omega one is superior to NLS but NLS is pretty good. Others might argue, but they're wrong :D

Reminds me that I need to order some more food I recently ran out of my 10lb bucket of omega one so I am using some kensfish.com soft and moist with krill pellets as my staple right now.

I just stick with what I could get locally.. :)
Do you feed only Omega One pellets or mix with other pellets as well?

A lot of the food preference boils down to what people like, what their fish like and the best results after trying them. I do not have a flowerhorn, but I would most likely feed it 3mm as that is what I have on hand.

I feed a variety. I used to feed NLS as my staple before I discovered the 10lb. bucket of omega one 5mm pellets. It fed all my 6"+ fish for over a year and showed the most improvement of any food. It was a much better staple for flowerhorn it brought out their colors/KOK better than any other cichlid pellets I've ever used.
