I guess its safe to say that we will not be getting any imports of baby Azuls bass this year hey. Thats' sucks, as soon as I get into the bass hobby the nicest ones (in my opinion) are not around anymore:irked:.

Yeah since I've got into cichla I've been hoping some of these get brought in. Honestly I'm thinking someone will have a breeding pair of the big ones floating around in the hobby before we get some wc azul, which would still be fine by me as long as I get some lol.

Why buy babys when there are all these nice size azuls floating around and being sold for peanuts. Setup another tank and get a big one.

I've got a tank for em now but usually shipping is even more than the fish. I would take some of the big ones happily, but there are none locally and shipping a big bass is far from cheap. last quote I got for one big azul to ship to me was $200 and that was just shipping cost

The last batch that I know of came by way of Shark Aquarium earlier this year, and they were F1 from Holland, if memory serves. Beautiful fish, IMO. Wild cichla are becoming a thing of the past with the influx (and profit margins) of captive borne cichla.

That was one hot f1 tainted!

Unless Rich from IA imports the azuls they will be about the same price as these big boys floating around. As said, with in the next year or 2 you will see some breeding pairs in the US. There are quite a few of us w/ more than one azul over 2 years old.
