Is it normal
For a ray to eat and bit get bulge on their back? I have 2 rays who seem to be slow growers.

they do wat but after feeding they dont gwt the bulge at the back unlike
My others who
Eat like there’s no tomorrow.

after feeding their backs will
Be really big.

but these 2 males dont get the bulge.

i have treated with Prazi before.

any tip? These 2 also dont take pellets.

should i be suspecting parasite ?

Suspect underfeeding instead. I always feed my rays untill they wont eat anymore. If there is anything left i scoop it out and feed other fish with it.

How big is the tank? And how big are the rays? If you are able to seperate these two males to another fullt cycled tank with no other tankmates i would do that to make sure they get enough food.

thanks. I don't think it is underfeeding as i usually feed them till they give up . the 2 which don't get a bulge stop eating faster than the others.
one of the rays which dont get a bulge is with 4 others in my 8x2.5x2.5 tank.
while the other one is by his own in a 4x2x2 tank.

one of the BD is only about 8-10 inches and I've had him for almost 2 years i think.
the other is a 10 inch P14 male also .

the similarity between the 2 is they don't take massivore.

I noticed that the male P14 seem to get ful or stop eating quickly Vs my other bigger rays.
I don't think they are underfed as there usually are some bits left after i feed them .

after feeding my other rays will have their backs bulging but not these 2.

What are your parameters?
Here is my bdmale and an hybridfemale ive got. On this pics i havnt fed them for two days and they are still nice and fat.

I think somethings stressing your males males. Please post an profilepic of both males and an full frontal shot on them with your water parameters.
