My entire town is out if water conditioner due to lost shipments or some crap! Petsmart, petco, my lfs and even walmart and it could be another week before our area gets any. My last water change of %30 was five days ago and im used to changing atleast %30 twice a week. My tank is a 60g wide and houses two convicts, two jewlels and one flowerhorn all around two inches. If i have to wait another week will my fish make it? Should i reduce feedings?

Order some and pay extra for shipping if you have to. You'll probably end up even in the end.

I would say 1 weeks worth of water changes with no conditioner should be fine. Iv done it on my past sw tanks and have done it acouple times on my fw setups with no ill effects. The choice is yours though. As my dad always says, if its good enough for human consumption it should be fine for fish lol but I dont take his word for it

Id rather not add chlorine to the aquarium lol and i dont have a card to order anything online. Should it be okay for another two or three days when im going out of town? I can get some in dallas.

try aging the water to remove chlorine. if ya got chlormines i duno then. you can try running the water through a brita, or some high quality carbon filters.

Ive had tanks for over 6 years and not once have i used chlorine removers... 30-50% once a week every week

My tap water has chlorine in it which poses a threat to fish and is also very hard. When we had well water i didnt use conditioner but now i dont have a choice.

I wouldn't risk adding tap water right away to the tank w/o any chlorine removers. Although it's safe for human consumption, chlorine is definitely not for fish. even though it's a partial WC, it's like if i smoked cigarettes, I'd be fine.. until the effects really start showing up. I would run the water through a large container or bucket and age the water. eventually the chlorine will evaporate.

So you dont think the fish could just wait a few days? Im deff not adding straight tap water..
