So my parents had some nice old coral that they found when moving and I got my hands on it. Decided to try putting it in my fresh water cichlid tank. Big mistake. Coral is rather sharp and a "community" of aggressive fish chase each other from time to time. They all got a few scratches at first but I hoped they would learn; apparently not. Got home today and my Jack Dempsey looked like he had gone all 12 rounds.

To anyone considering adding coral like this, carefully consider how prone your fish will be to running into it. If they often have to run and hide, it may not be the best idea.

Yeah, too bad for your fish but glad that you ended up removing the coral from the tank.I just don't think it looks right with freshwater fish.
