Do sailfins need to munch on driftwood? they dont go near it much anyway so i was thinking of removing it. its a bare bottom tank. .. they are always near the filter tubes and one of mt heaters!

seems i allways see a post much the same ...it's the slime on the wood they r after

A lot of plecos need driftwood in their diet. Panque sp. are the ones that definitely need driftwood. Sailfins...not as much, IMO.

They still should have it available. They will not gnaw on it as much as a royal, but they still need it. Just because you aren't seeing them munching on it doesn't mean they aren't.

I would deffinetly leave the wood in my plecs all seem to be much happier with wood in the tanks.
