Can I have a pond that has a pump (to keep the water not still so misquitos won't grow) and stock it heavily with plants and some fish like LMB and a lot of minnows plus some pumpkinseeds. Can I do like a farm style-no filter pond with a tiny 265 gallon?

Save your money and do a tank. A 265g outdoor pond is very limited. Temperature variations, preditors and small volume of water with plants will deplete oxygen needed for the fish especially without filtration.

I don't use pumps in any of my outdoor ponds for years now and have kept many pond species successfully including everything that you mentioned with the exception of the pumpkinseeds. Gars, Bowfins, Orfes, Koi, Shinners, crayfish Green Sunnies . . . .I do however have run numerous sponge filters in all the ponds and stock tanks.

It is much cheaper, less maintenance and more dependable biological filtration than the expensive and highly limited pumps! Under $200 and you can run 40 airlines deep to 40 sponge filters and run them 24/7/365 with between 29 watts and 48 watts.

Put 6 - 12 size V sponges in the 265 and then just clean one (of six) or two (of twelve) every other month (Alternating as to get all 6 or 12 by the one year mark) and vacuum the bottom of the pond/ stock tank weekly.
