no help in catfish forum

I need help, posted in catfish section got no real input. My cat keeps surfacing, then basically tries to swim himself out of the water for 3-10 sec ds at a time. Also I need an ID. I know some of you know about a lot more than cichlids. Please help

Is your catfish gulping air or being harassed by another fish?

Or maybe some kind of eupterus hybrid. I know that at least one of the major Florida whole sellers likes to sell eupterus hybrids.

Not being harassed, he's the biggest fish in the tank.

I doubt it's from Florida possible hybrid though. I just haven't been able to find any pics that match

For how long do you have him? Maybe he hasnt found a hiding place yet. The most riverine Synodontis like to hide under wood.

Another thing that might help is more current.

I have had him for 6 months, I have a fluval fx5 and 2 1500 gph circulation fans with an aquaclear110 running. Current is not an issue, it has a log that it's lived in since I got it. This is completely new behavior.

He does seem to be gulping air.. or trying to eat the glass lids.
