just wondering if anyone knows what kind of fish this? i bought at the lfs and they weren't real sure they said it was a shark. but what kind ? would like some more info so i know how to properly care for it. so why not ask the pros

Looks like a banded leporinus, Leporinus affinis. They get about a foot long and can sometimes be a bit aggressive.
 
yeah i was cleaning my pond last fall so i put my goldfish in my tank why i did it. bad idea he killed the 8" gold fish befor i even knew it . he doesn't mess with my cichlids thought
