Well my nandus nandus was always incredibly picky, not eating anything besides live feeders no matter how much i starved him, but that has changed today!

I opened up the refridgerator and saw an old tub of worms, which i really expected to be dead by now since they are over a month old :D but nope, all still alive, so i decided i might aswell use them before they died. i threw one i nmy 29, moved over to the 55 and threw in a big one, oscar nabbed it, threw in 2 more, oscar nabbed both of those too, threw in another expecting the oscar to get it, but nope my prized Nandus Nandus grabs him and wouldn't let go of it for nothing. my senegal and largest fathead minnow also got a meal out of it while i was watching.

so ya thats it, i'm just really really happy i don't have to have a large source of feeder fish year round anymore :headbang2

on a side note, people should check out fathead minnow, these guys are mini monsters, my large one that is too big for a feeder will eat feeder fish with gusto and is really quite the beast at feeding time, and he actually swims around unlike some smaller predators.

congrats but now ya gotta buy worms by the gallon.

nice i would'nt mind a nandu nandus. if i could find one. how big do they get.

they get to 8" max and they can eat a fish atleast 2/3's their own size...as they have HUGE mouths. i love mine, even if it was a little boring at first i've really grown attatched to it.

A bit hard to find but a great predator for fairly small tanks.
