so the oh so intelligent overlords have passed another law for us peons once again.
they are imposing a 55g a day limit of water per comrade in each household.
between my 7 tanks and weekly water changes I will be over the limit already.

God I can't wait to leave this **** hole

When exactly did that state become so jacked up.

Where I live, last year because of the drought, we didn't get municipal water for almost 4 months.
To flush toilets, we had to walk to the Pacific and get buckets of sea water, and during an occasional rain, we took showers under the eaves, we were a ripe bunch. Needless to say, fresh water aquariums were entirely out of the question.
This year the rainy season wa almost 3 months late, and if we get 55 gallons of water per day, that would be a blessing.
Lets hope Cali doesn't get that dry.

Woooow that stinks!

...Though at the same time, I kinda understand it. My day job is as a fisheries biologist, and the drought in CA has caught my attention somewhat. You guys are so behind the power curve in precipitation that this is honestly somewhat needed. Much of CA got its water from snowmelt in the Sierra Nevadas. The mountains historically got 40+ feet precipitation in snow every year, but for about 20 years now they've only gotten a couple of feet. It's causing much of CA to dry out and not replenish the aquifers.

Not taking a side in the argument, just saying I understand it.

Hello; I get that you feel picked on if in fact there is not a serious water supply problem in your area. However if such a water problem does exist then what exactly do you expect?

Some people have water but it is of such poor quality it is not fit to drink, bathe in or use in a tank.

Other people in other countries have similar water quantity issues. I recall our Hendre being under threat of the public water taps being turned off completely.

It is not the case that this water problem in California is a new thing. I am many hundreds of miles away and have known of the issues for decades.

Shut down some tanks or perhaps reduce the bio-load in the tanks by removing some fish. With light stocking it should be possible to reduce the volume of water used by doing less frequent WC.

my issue with this is that it's a man made drought.

we get plenty of water during the rainy years to carry over thru the dry years.. but the liberals controlling this state refuse to buid up our water infrastructure and spend the money on pet projects like a bullet train to no where and the twin straw that will pull even more water out of the delta to ship down to socal so the richy rich can keep there mansions yard and golf courses nice and green.

.gov has not built or even maintained our water infustructure in decades. just look at what happened at the Oroville dam last year, that was the biggest dam to break, we had smaller local dams over flow as. so much water in one year that we had to dump most of it into the ocean instead of saving it.

.gov has not built a single dam since the 70's yet out population has exploded in the last 40 years. anybody with half a brain know that's a recipe for disaster.

all this is gonna do is impose penalties and fine that the average Californian can not afford , this rich down in social and politicians will be ok. us peons at the bottom will loose.

basicly it's all political games to raise wat3r fees and for this wanna be communist goverment in Cali to controller one more thing in our lives with out actually addressing the root of the problem.

WATER STORAGE .

a better solution is to move to a free state

Want to have fun? I'm on <15 gallons of water per day. Droughts aren't nice!

With the Liberal accusations being thrown around, this thread is bound to degenerate into a political argument. Political discussion is against the terms of service of this site, which we all agreed to when joining the site.

I'm gonna go ahead and shut this one down. Again, not taking a side, just keeping the peace. Political discussions belong on Facebook.
