I have recently went to almost all of my LFS today (4 total) and was looking for my favorite marine fish the (picasso trigger) for my new 55 gal FOWLR setup. They told me that they wouldn't be getting anymore fish from Hawaii in such as yellow tangs and picasso triggers because they are closing Hawiian waters:cry: Those are the fish that I want the most for my setup. I am pissed.:swear: Are there anymore fish like these that I could keep that would be similar to that of the picasso and yellow tang. I really like triggers. Replies much appreiciated.

That sucks. All my LFS that have salt have like 8 picaso triggers and one just got in 30 yellow tangs.

There are some other triggers I can think of that are good with other fish, but they get to big for a 55. The pink tail or the blue throat trigger would work, but like I said they get too big.

You should check into this place, free shipping so it is worth a shot. They have both yellow tangs and picaso triggers in stock. The picaso is under Huma Huma.

you could try an assasi trigger/ arabian picasso trigger, or a rectangular trigger, or bluethroats and crosshatch and clown etc.

Best of luck, if you get them off there, let me know how they are.

I checked with our local marine aquarium store and they said they havn't heard anything about hawaiian waters being closed. They are still receiving hawaiian fish and will always be they said.

Maybe your local fishstore feed you false info???

Female blue throats don't get that big. And pinktails take a while to fully grow. Scopas tangs are exactly like yellow tangs except they're not yellow.

Hey man dats a bunch of crap
They arent doin dat stuff in hawaii
the media is jus tryin to scare some fish retailers to try to stop them from collecting these fish
Ur store will probly start gettin them in again in a month or so but dont give up

I believe you guys are right. I will keep a look out for the fish I want and I will still try to order some fish online at saltwaterfish.com. Free shipping. I will tell you how it is when I order from them Honda12. Thanks for helping me find the real thing thats going on with this ordeal.

yes it is true that certain HWI watters are being closed off to collecting. They are creating the biggest reef perserve in the world (bigger then the great barror reef (AUST). Though it won't effect all fish from HWI it will effect some that are only found in the area that is being closed off from fishing and collecting.
