So my Texas Cichlid died last night, from the the fatal attack from the Green Terror and there was someone else involved, not just the GT.I currently don't have the GT anymore and since the Texas is now gone.I have been looking around for a 4-5 inch male Texas again,no luck of course. So if I can't find another male Texas like that by next week, what would be a good fish for me to get?I currently have the 125 gallon, with a JD,Oscar,Severum,Salvini,Convict,Firemouth,BloodParrot, and a Vieja whatever(unknown until larger). Most of my cichlids are female except the JD,maybe the oscar, and maybe the vieja might be a male.I would like to have a couple of midas's,but of course that wouldn't work out,I am trying to stay away from the whole having 1 or 2 fish in a 125 gallon. Also this tank is a grow out for these cichlids as well,so it wont be permanent.

I do not understand why the Midas is out of the question.

Well,I am taking the Midas's owners words that they can kill anything in the tank,it would be different if I had say a Flowerhorn or even a Trimac in the tank right now, then I would get the Midas, but the only cichlid I have in this tank that I know could stand up to a Midas is my Jack Dempsey, salvini, black convict and well if my Texas was still alive honestly or if I had a 270 gallon tank, then yes I can see myself having a Midas.

thank you for actually listening to the advice the people give on here who know what they are talking about, far too many people just ignore this and then end up with a massacre and we are left trying to keep ourselves from saying i told you so, im sorry to hear about your texas that really sucks but im actually surprised he lasted as long as he did, thought he might be able to pull through since he lasted that long but i guess not :( what size tank are you eventually upgrading too? i actually think for the time being you are pretty stocked and shouldnt add anything else, focus on keeping the water clean and growing out those fish you already have really well

Polleni is pretty aggressive fyi and I wouldn't put in in a tank under 180.

The Polleni won't be an issue for my cichlids honestly,my Jack Dempsey doesn't take too kind to others trying to push him around honestly and same with my Oscar.

Yeah,I am heart broken honestly by this situation, since he was the Juggernaut of the cichlids in my tank set up,he wasn't scared of any of the cichlids in my tank and even if they tried to charge at him,he would stand there like whatever, you can't bug me attitude. He had to of been ganged up by more than 2 cichlids honestly. The only reason I am getting a Texas at least a male right away,is cause the Salvini and my old male Texas were very close together, she was browsing around for him yesterday and still is,I tried to bring in my brothers female Texas, but the Salvini wasn't too thrilled by it.What I didn't understand was,he was healing up just fine actually from this past week. The tank size I am wanting to upgrade to is a 270 gallon fiberglass tank that has a viewing window. The dimensions on that tank is 72x36x24 which is perfect for what I want,I don't want to deal with glass or acrylic tanks in the near future.
