With the tanks taken care of, time to get out of the dark and get some fishing done. We packed up and went down to the MN river, and fished in some ponds that connect to it. The carp were out in force. We made dough balls out of oatmeal. The first fish that hit was a true monster, and straightened my friends hook. The next one hit while another friend wasn't paying attention. His pole got dragged into the lake. I managed to hook his line and a mass of hornwort, and dragged it back in. That was the only thing I caught. The last fish that hit was hooked by my friends girlfriend, and she had 10 lb test! She worked it for 15 minutes. This one was massive. I got in the water to help land it. She got it all the way up to the pier, but it was so massive it took two of us to try and land it, but it shook free. So, we caught nothing, but the carp were true monsters. We'll be out again tomorrow, so next time we'll have pics!
Use 20lb line you will land a 60lb carp on that no problem just need some quality hooks if you can get them get somthing like this.
